 GRADUATION INFORMATION 

Senior Dues are $50 EXACT CASH ONLY. Senior Dues are non-refundable. Collection of Senior Dues will begin on   picture day and continue every Monday and Wednesday through Graduation Day from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Dues must be paid by May 15, 2019, in order to attend the Busch Gardens Field Trip.

Seniors Dues include the following; however, not a-la-carte:

  • Senior pictures
  • Senior Picnic
  • Busch Gardens ticket with lunch, dinner and transportation to and from the park
  • Cap and Gown
  • Reception at Hylton Performing Arts Center
  • Senior T-Shirt and Yearbook

Base School Information: Base schools issue all official diplomas and transcripts. You must contact them directly for “pick-up” appointments.  If you plan to participate in your BASE SCHOOL CEREMONY, it is your responsibility to contact the graduation coordinator by February 28 to make them aware of your intentions. You must have your coursework completed no later than May 15 for processing and release to your base school for graduation. You must order a separate cap and gown directly from your base school. Additional cost(s) apply.

Graduation Decorum:

The Commencement at INSC is a formal ceremony. Graduates must arrive by 5 p.m. in their caps and gowns. Graduates MUST leave purses, cell phones, and all other personal belongings with family/friends or locked in their cars. Graduates proceed immediately to the back of the facility to line up for the ceremony. Family and guests will not be admitted until 5:30 p.m. All guests must have a ticket, including children. No one is permitted to sit in aisles or on the stairs in the facility. Due to the expected crowd and as a courtesy to other families, the following items may NOT be brought into the graduation facility at any time.

  • Strollers
  • Balloons
  • Flowers (due to the allergies of others)
  • Noisemakers of any variety
  • Beach balls or other balls
  • Food/drink items
  • Silly string or other inappropriate materials

As a courtesy to families, please remove whimpering children from the auditorium so all guests in the audience can hear the ceremony and the graduate’s names as they are announced. After the ceremony has concluded, please remain at your seats until all graduates have exited the auditorium. Guests will then be invited to join their graduates at the reception in the lobby.

Thursday, Feb. 26 OVER-18 Seminar SENIOR MEETING: Students who have 19-credits to date are invited to attend this informational meeting. Senior expectations, privileges and portfolio requirements will be reviewed.

Senior Dues  Collection begins on picture day and continues every Monday and Wednesday.

Thursday, April 22    SENIOR MEETING: Students who have 16-credits to date are invited to attend this meeting.                             

Friday, April 30         SENIOR PICNIC at Independence.   11 a.m. – 1 p.m.                

Wednesday, May 12   DEADLINE for all Senior Dues. Busch Gardens permission slips and Senior Dues must be submitted in order to attend the Senior Field Trip. No exceptions!

Friday, May 14          DEADLINE for Seniors who intend to walk with their base school must have all online course work  completed. No exceptions!

Wednesday, May 19   SENIOR GRADES ARE DUE by NOON in order to participate in the June 4 Commencement Ceremony. All Credits and SOL’s must be completed to participate in the Senior Trip and Commencement Ceremony. Any student who has less than two courses remaining may complete his/her requirements in Summer School and be a Summer School Graduate. The Summer School Commencement Ceremony will be held in August.

Friday, May 28           Busch Gardens Senior Trip: Buses will leave the school promptly at
7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. 7:30 a.m. and return at
 approximately 10 p.m. All students attending the trip are required to have transportation to and from school on this day.

Wednesday, June 2    Commencement Ceremony Rehearsal at Hylton Performing Arts
1 p.m.  Center. You MUST attend 
 rehearsal in order to participate in the ceremony on June 4. Transportation will NOT be provided to and from practice.

Thursday, June 3 Commencement Ceremony: (Students report at 5 p.m.)
6 p.m.

Senior Portfolios are now digital! Access online by signing into your student Google Account. You may create your own Google account but you must use your real name so we can give you credit.

  • Once signed into the account select the waffle icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • Select ‘More’ than select ‘Classroom’.
  • On this screen click the plus sign + and select ‘Join class’.
  • Enter Class code “G6zfeb” onto the pop up and click Join.
