Miss. Otoo
Hello! My name is Ms. Otoo (pronounced O2) and I'm one of the school counselors here at Independence Nontraditional School. I am so excited to be part of the Wolf Pack working closely with alpha A-D. I have heard such wonderful things about the school as well as the students. I feel extremely lucky to be here.
I have an undeniable passion for school counseling and working with youth. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the best HBCU in Virginia, Virginia State University. I received my Master's degree in Counselor Education from Virginia State University also. I have a variety of experiences before becoming a school counselor! I have substituted as a school teacher in Petersburg, Va. I also have experience with facilitating HIV and substance abuse groups for young adults. My most recent experience has been working as a school counselor in the Greensville County Public Schools helping students navigate through their own self-discovery.
Any student may request to meet with me, or the student may be referred to me by a teacher, administrator, or parent. I encourage you to reach out if you have concerns. I am here to help students achieve their academic, social/emotional and career goals, as well as provide support for parents and teachers. I may be reached by email at [email protected] or phone at (571)-374-6891. I am excited to be here and look forward to getting to know you all!

Excuses are tools of the incompetent, which build monuments of nothingness, that lead to pathways of no where. I'm here to help!
