My name is Kate Dunlap and I am the Independence Nontraditional School High School Social Worker. I have been a social worker since 2007 and have worked in a variety of settings, including foster care, for-profit treatment centers and outpatient clinic settings. I have worked as a school social worker for the District of Columbia Public Schools in an alternative education setting for 9 years and Alexandria City Schools as a substance abuse counselor. I have my social work license in Virginia and Washington, DC and see clients through my private practice, part-time.
I am a product of Prince William County Public Schools and have lived in Woodbridge for most of my life. I have a wonderful family and enjoy spending time working out, doing yardwork and simply enjoying life. I will give 100% to all of the amazing students who attend INS and cannot wait to support students and their families to the best of my ability.
